MOVIE STAR DIET

The Movie Star Diet was created by fitness guru Steve Simmons in 2003, and is well known as one of the small-portion diets that are second in popularity only to low-carb diets. Marketed as an e-book online, it takes the priciples of calorie counting and abolishes them in favor of a system of "bite-counting". While controversial, this method of weight loss has been praised by some in the fitness community for being a simple, low-stress method of losing weight.

The Movie Star Diet has come under some criticism, however, for it's permissive plan, allowing dieters to basically eat whatever they want, with disregard to the difference between healthy foods and non-healthy foods. However, the book itself stresses a healthy lifestyle and includes a lengthy chapter on working out, as well as a chapter on vitamins and better foods.

According to the book, the Movie Star Diet came about when the author consulted with a friend who was trying to make it as an actress in Hollywood. She came back with the "secrets of dieting" which he then turned into the plan now selling as an eBook. How much of this story is true is a matter of some conjecture.
