Patrik Sjöberg (born January 5, 1965) is a Swedish high jumper and previous world record holder. With 2.42 m, he holds the Swedish as well as the European record in men's high jump, making him the second best high jumper of all time, after Javier Sotomayor. The record jump took place at DN-Galan, an annual athletics event in Stockholm, June 20, 1987. At the time, it was a world record.

Sjöberg was arrested August 13, 2006 in a Gothenburg night club with a small amount of cocaine in his pocket and a urine sample contained traces of cocaine. If prosecuted and convicted Sjöberg faces a fine, or less probable, up to six months imprisonment. He has issued a lengthy public letter of apology. [1]

Patrik Sjöberg has been followed by other successful Swedish high jumpers, most notably Kajsa Bergqvist and Stefan Holm.
