PLAZA SUITE

Plaza Suite is 1971 sketch-based movie starring Walter Matthau, Maureen Stapleton (1st sketch), Barbara Harris (2nd sketch) and Lee Grant (3rd sketch). It features three sketches, which all take place in the same suite 719 of New York City's Plaza Hotel and each of them puts Walter Matthau in a somewhat different role. It is based on a Neil Simon play.

Trivia

• Although in one of the sketches, Walters ends outside of the room, he is obviously not on the seventh floor.
• New York City Mayor John Lindsay was on hand to wish the crew and actors "good luck" before filming started in October, 1970.
• Whereas the exterior shots were filmed at the Plaza Hotel, most of the interiors were filmed on the Paramount Pictures soundstages in Hollywood.
