PRISERE
In ecology, a sere is one stage in a sequence of events by which the vegetation of an area develops and becomes more complex, usually referred to by the name of its dominant species, which may be the largest or the most common. The word sere is a back-formation to indicate the singular of a "series"; still, the plural of sere is seres, and the singular of series is serie.
A seral community is the name given to each group of plants within the succession. A primary succession describes those plant communities that occupy a site that has not previously been vegetated. These can also be described as the pioneer community.
A prisere is a collection of seres making up the development of an area from non-vegetated surfaces to a climax community.
