About SourceAid
SourceAid LLC is a student founded company which specializes in assisting students and professionals in creating and managing their bibliographies. SourceAid currently does this through two different mediums, a web based software called Citation Builder, and a full-text book, titled Cite It Right. SourceAid was founded in the fall of 2003 by Bentley College freshman Ron Silvia and Tom Fox while living together as roommates in the basement of Miller Hall. The idea was to create a computer program that would build and manage their references, in order to save themselves time and frustration. The company is now located in Osterville, Massachusetts.
Our Mission SourceAid provides research and citation tools and resources to students, professors, and entire institutions to help stop plagiarism across all sectors of academic communities.
Reason for being Source documentation is a confusing, and frustrating process for students, and researchers. It is however, essential. Simply put, if you do not cite others’ work and ideas, you plagiarize!
SourceAid’s reason for being is to eliminate the unpleasant facets of the traditional and old-fashioned citation process. SourceAid provides students with the tools and literature needed to write and cite properly.
Primary services To help researchers with source documentation in the core disciplines (English, science, humanities, social sciences, psychology, art, and history), SourceAid offers Citation Builder. Citation Builder formats your bibliography, and for Citation Builder Pro subscribers, your footnotes and endnotes. Cite It Right, SourceAid’s new print publication, overviews writing, research, plagiarism. It also has an in-depth focus on the four major writing styles. SourceAid Citation Builder is available with individual, classroom, and institution-wide licenses.
Products
Citation Builder: Citation Builder is a web based software which creates and manages citations in any of the four major writing styles. These writing styles are Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), Chicago Manual of Style (CMS), and the Council of Science Editors (CSE). Each one has its own format and sets of guidelines, and all four are complied with completely by Citation Builder.
Cite It Right: Cite It Right is a full-text book which outlines all four major writing stlyles and provides information and insight into the process of writing a research paper. For each writing style, Cite It Right list each possible source type (such as a book, website, journal article, etc. For each of those source types, Cite It Right provides both the formula and an example for the bibliographic entry, as well as for the notation. This allows anyone to create a bibliography and footnotes or endnotes in a short period of time, so as to ensure that they do not plagiarize in the citation aspect of their research work.
